Want to ‘wow’ your clients?
Hint: the devil’s in the details. 😉

Good morning Wash Weekly Family,
One simple way to wow your clients– make sure there’s visual appeal in every aspect of your orders– that includes how you treat socks.
You and I are taught never to judge a book by its cover.
Yet, you and I both do it every time we look at product packaging.
So if we do it, imagine our clients when they’re presented with a subpar laundry order?
Most garment care professionals believe it is enough to focus only on the outer packaging of our laundry orders.
But to really stand out, we must focus on ‘wowing’ the client every step of the way post-delivery.
Today, we’ll go through how to do just that with one important aspect– your sock packaging. 🧦🧦🧦
You may be thinking, ‘how can we wow anyone with their socks?’
But as we’ve stated, we’re constantly judging products and services based on their packaging.
So paying attention to even the smallest of details is going to ensure you knock it out of the park for them.
That absolutely includes every article of clothing, including your clients’ socks.
Here’s a closer look at what to consider for sock packaging.
How do socks look in the store?

They’re always matched, neatly folded or flat, organized, and sealed or strapped.
Using that same image, you can use socks straps to recreate that same look and feeling for your clients.
Here’s how use of sock straps in garment care plays into the 7 main features of good packaging:
Convenient handling
ease of unpacking for clients
ease of discard post-delivery
keeps pairs organized during packaging
Protection
keeps socks bundled together
keeps them from falling out during unpacking stage
helps prevent losing individual socks throughout service
Economical
very low cost to make a grand visual impact
Reflection of product quality
enhances the visual quality of client orders
increase the perceived value of your service
Attracts attention
differentiates you from competitors
can even lead to clients posting pictures of their socks on social media, which leads to even MORE exposure for your business (two examples below from our Instagram)
Informs clients of information you wish to convey
allows for any additional information we want the client to see
announcements, holiday wishes, etc
Upcoming promotions, promo codes
QR Code to drive reviews (more on this in another issue)
allows for addition of a thank you message for the client
Shows your brand identity
Allows for your social media icons for clients to connect with you
creates room for your store/stores contact information
Here a short video on how we use sock straps
To say the least, your clients’ perception WILL be influenced by your product packaging….
As a rule of thumb, remember to:
Solve a problem for your client
Make it aesthetically pleasing for them
Convey your brand messaging to them
This goes for sock strap design as well as all other aspects of packaging.
If you’re not already, make sure to consider each aspect of your packaging, not just the outermost portion of your product or service.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this week’s topic below.
